Hira Cave stands as one of the most significant Islamic landmarks in Makkah. On the summit of Jabal al-Noor, about 4-5 kilometers northeast of the Holy Mosque, the first verses of the Qur’an were revealed to the Prophet by Angel Jibreel (Gabriel):
“Read in the name of your Lord who created.”

The cave itself is small, accommodating only about five people at a time, with a narrow entrance that directly faces the Kaaba.
